YOGYA A Cultural and Business City


Yogyakarta Province is a Special Region in Indonesia where the Kraton or the palace of the Ngayogyakarta Hardiningrat Sultanate resides.

The Kraton (Sultan’s Palace) itself was designed and built in stages between 1756 and 1790 by Yogyakarta’s funder, Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, a respected and popular leader of the Special Religion who has also earned admiration from many across the nation.

While Jogya is an artistic, cultural, historical, and spiritual city, it is also a dynamic city that is growing in terms of business and economic development.

The Jogja Expo Center (JEC) is an integrated one-hectare building built by the government of Yogyakarta, and is equipped with modern intrasructure to facilitate MICE activities under one roof.

The total area of JEC covers 14 hektars and houses several buildings to support MICE activites. It comprises a hotel, shopping mall, international restaurants and warehouses to support JEC’s mission as the center of international trade and business services.

It has a huge parking area and a helipad. Also, space for 20 trucks carrying 40-feet containers.

The JEC is located on the southeastern part of Jogja, 10 minutes from the Adisucipto airport, 15 meutes from the city center and 20 minutes from the Tugu train station.

It is conveniently located in the center of Java, and plays a strategic role in the development of tourism business in Indonesia.

Only an hour’s flight from Jakarta and Bali, Jogja can also be reached by land transportation such as executive trains, executive bus, and private cars from major cities in Java.

Jogja has become an international gateway as there are scheduled direct flights from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Since its official opening by them President of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, the venue has been used for numerous national and international event.

Official figures show events attracted 5.000 to 10.000 visitors daily. They not only come from Jogja but also from other provinces in Indonesia, even foreign countries.

As events that are often inspiring with farreaching ramifications, business meeting require a supportive and dynamic environment to create and develop ideas.

Meeting, incentives, conferences, and exhibition (MICE) in yogya have been instrumentalin producing new paradigms, delivering ideas and concepts, them into realities.

One probably couldn’t ask for a friendlier and more conducive MICE environment than the JEC.
